So, you may ask, what actually happened to Tasia on Christmas?

So Christmas was surprisingly enjoyable. It's one of those rare times that something you were wary about turned out to be one of the best times you've ever had.

Due to current events and shit, I wasn't sure how Christmas was going to turn out. Awkward and strained, possibly. But it honestly was the best Christmas that I can remember. Not because I got lots and lots of items, but for the first time I was actually able to notice the cliche phrase "The Spirit of Christmas." Like all the Christmas movies we watch every year tell you. The true meaning and spirit of Christmas. It was just an overall sense I got, that everything was really okay. My dad and I got along better than we have in years. We were joking around and snuggling. I haven't had that with my dad since I was a small child.

I also gave everyone artwork as presents. Watching their thrilled expressions as they opened theirs, and then eagery waiting to see what everyone else got, was incredible for me. I honestly wouldn't have cared if I'd gotten nothing under the tree. It was like watching my friends at school open their gifts. The joy on their faces was all I could ask for.

So yes. Actual material gifts I got: Turquoise suede gloves with fake fur on the inside, the electronic handheld dictionary I asked for, an Amazon.com certificate, an electronic piano, art supplies, and a T-shirt that says "Yolanda Rocks." Hehe. I'm so excited about the piano. I haven't been able to open it and play, but it's only a matter of time.

In other news, we came home from So-Cal today. Grandma had been wanting me to play some of my songs for her, so before we left this morning, I gave her a little concert. It was absolutely amazing; when I finished the first song, Silence Breathes, I looked up at her and there were tears running down her face. She was so blown away and thrilled. I almost started to cry myself. I love it when what I do and create touches people like that.

Overall, it's been great.
