Not So Much of a Fairy Tale (Chapter 25): Jealousy
Apparently, Yesung entered Kyuhyun’s condominium without asking permission from him. He almost got the shock of his life when he arrived a while ago and saw his hyung’s turtle crawling toward him and staring at him with blank eyes as he opened the door. Kyuhyun asked why the heck he was here and he told him that Ddangkoma, his precious not-so-little-anymore turtle missed him. “Such a lame excuse for bugging him,” he thought. He collapsed on the couch and Yesung noticed him moping as he pulled his phone and texted someone.
To: Seohyun
Did you reach home safely? No evil goblins on the way? Reply ASAP
Message sent.
“What happened to your date with Seohyun?” Yesung asked and Kyuhyun took forever to explain to his hyung that it was not a date, it’s just a treat. Nevertheless, he told him what happened. Yesung, on the other hand, was trying hard to stifle his laugh when Kyuhyun told him about the mysterious women who gave them the tickets and then he told him what happened after they watched the movie, which Yesung liked to call “the Jealous Kyu Incident”.

The only evil goblin I saw before going home is you.
“Aish! I can’t believe she still hates me!” Kyuhyun grumbled as he read the message on his phone.
“That’s because you are too harsh to her friend. According to Yuri, Seohyun cares for her friends and she will not let someone offend them,” Yesung’s voice echoed from the bathroom. The sound of water trickling from the faucet could be heard on the background. Few seconds later, he went out wiping his face with a towel.
“But I really don’t trust him.” Kyuhyun answered sitting on the couch.
“You don’t trust him or are you just jealous because he might take Seohyun away from you?” the older one asked.
“I AM NOT JEALOUS! Why would I be? I just ca-“ Wait, what I am saying?
“Care for her,” Yesung ended his sentence for him. “Since when did you become so caring?”
Kyuhyun darted his eyes to the innocent turtle on the box. “Ddangkoma does not know how to swim, right? I remember you almost killed your pet when you tried to make it swim.”
Yesung already knew what Kyuhyun was up to. He was blackmailing him. “Fine, I won’t talk about it anymore.” Yesung picked Ddangkoma up and kept it away from Kyuhyun for it’s own safety.
“Kyuhyun is stuck in his denial world,” That’s what Yesung thought. He wondered how he can make him snap out of it.

The next day…
Yuri chose to arrive late at the Seoul Arts Plaza to finish their mural. She knew that Yesung’s rehearsal would finish by afternoon so she decided to arrive there during that time hoping that she would not see him. Unfortunately, he was still there, sleeping on one of the chairs at the front row.
“He just finished the action scene, that’s why he decided to take a rest,” Sooyoung told her. Yuri did not want to see him but something seems to draw her closer to him. She stepped nearer to him and observed him while he drifted into his dreamland. She reached out her hand to touch his face. But when her hand was just inches away…
“Oppa looks so cute when he’s sleeping,” Yuri heard a familiar voice behind her. Just like the last time, she appeared out of the blue and spoiled the moment. There was Krystal standing beside her with braided pigtails and off-shoulder top paired with shorts that ended up to her mid-thigh. Yuri felt that her outfit fell at par in comparison with Krystal.
“Krystal, you’re here,” Yuri tried to give her the nicest smile she could.
“Yes, I am here to see oppa. Unnie, what’s your name again?” Krystal asked.
Gosh, she forgot my name… No, she never kept it in mind. Yuri looked away for a while and rolled her eyes as that thought came.
“Yuri,” she answered. “Ah, Yuri-unnie.”
“Aww, he really looks so peaceful when he sleeps,” Krystal said with a pout. Yuri’s eyes went large when Krystal leaned closer to Yesung.
“Yes, he looks so peaceful and it makes me want to disturb him.” Yuri said. “YAH!” She smacked him on his head.
“Hey what are you doing?” Yesung was awoken because of the pain. He opened his eyes and saw Yuri laughing. “So you are the culprit,” he said. Seeing that Yesung was going to have his revenge, Yuri immediately ran away. Yesung got up and chased Yuri to the stage.
“Hey, Kwon Yuri, you know I still have some bugs left in my collection. Do you want to see them?” he said running after Yuri. “No! Please… “She shrieked. “I’m really sorry. You know I’m scared of them.”
Krystal felt a pang of jealousy as she watched the two playing with each other. Yuri slipped and her bum landed flat on the cold wooden floor of the stage. “Ow, it hurts.” Yuri yelped in pain as she rubbed her back part.
“Let me help you,” Yesung said holding out his hand but just as Yuri was going to reach out, Yesung withdrew his hand. “I got you again.”
“Aish… you’re really---“ Yuri could only sigh in front of her friend. Yesung held out his hand again. “Come, I’ll help you out. This time, it’s really real.” Yuri looked at him; her eyes were filled with doubt.
“Come on, I am not gonna fool you anymore,” Yesung assured her. Yuri took his hand and as a revenge, instead of letting him pull her up, she grabbed his hand and dragged him down which ended up with Yesung falling on top of her. Seems like the time stood still as they looked in each other’s eyes… until Krystal butted in again.
“Oppa, you told me that you’ll tour me around. Let’s get going now,” she said irritably and then she stomped outside the room. Yuri and Yesung stood up and straightened their clothes. “Do you want to come with us?” Yesung asked.
“No, I still have work to do and besides I don’t want to be the third wheel. Go now, Krystal is waiting for you,” she answered plainly. Yuri walked backstage to get the things needed for the mural. In one or two days, the mural would be finally finished and she would not need to see Yesung that often. Yuri heard several footsteps approaching her. She turned around and saw Sooyoung.
“Is Yuri jealous?” she asked her.
“Me? Jealous? Come on, tell me how can I fall in love with that dork?” Yuri said but she knew that she was lying not only to Sooyoung but also to herself. She knew she would be falling over and over again to his odd charms just like how she always fell for his tricks all the time.
