cats?
my friend shayna is starting up a theatre troupe and wants me on the board, and also wants me to play the railway cat (??) in cats. apparently he's scottish. i've never seen the show. I haven't given a straight answer either way because though i think it would be fun, i'm unsure of how dependable i'd be at running something like that, let alone running around in furry tights and singing (! :( ).
there's a puppet-specific theatre group in hollywood putting on a show called Mr. Punch, which is based on a story by Niel Gaiman, one of my favorite authors. It's basically how Punch (of Punch and Judy) must save the world from the devil. There're puppets, performers in masks, moveable sets, it sounds awesome. I definitely going to go see it, and if I'm really impressed I'm going to audition for their next show.
i've made a few artist friends through disney, and they make me wanna burn my sketchbooks in shame. may twelfth the new parks+recreation calendar for the summer starts up, and i want to sign up for a drawing and a sculpting class.
I commissioned my friend Brianna to draw a picture of me surrounded by the characters I do in the park and it came out beautifully.
