-- history
The shinigami might have tried to be one step ahead of Sousuke, but even there they failed. Assumption was their enemy, and they once again just proved just how little they knew of Sousuke, how little they truly understood the real him.
The deaths had been their own fault. The price of their naivety. Had the old man actually thought that Sousuke would not have figured out what he would do? Underestimated again, but who was Sousuke to complain? The ascension of power had always been his goal, moving step by step up that unending ladder. Patience was on his side, had always been. Even the defeat of his Arrancar in the fake Karakura had not made him flinch.
His goals like always had been his own, his true motives hidden behind a veil of lies and deception. In the end, the King's Realm was his. A wasteland seemingly unfit for any, but that would not always be. Perhaps it would be hard for the shinigami to understand, for their views were so narrow of the world, but Sousuke did work on making the Realm a plush living place, worthy of his presence.
Knowing that the shinigami would never stop, but also knowing that they had a purpose in the 'food chain', Sousuke left them intact, under the supervision of Gin. His own Arrancar, while loyal (to a point) could not be counted on to do the delicate work that the shinigami did. Working, although the shinigami might not have been overly enthused about it, Sousuke set up various measures, including the journal network in order to monitor them.
With Tousen in Hueco Mundo, for whether or not the Arrancar respected him they did for the most part fear his power and Gin in Seireitei, Sousuke seemed to have dropped off the face of the world. No guarantee was given to the shinigami about their lives, for they did not deserve any such thing, especially from him. Rumours did start to surface, put out their on Sousuke's command. What better ways to divide the masses then create a bit of strife and turmoil?
Despite the fact that the shinigami never saw Sousuke in the two years that followed, it did not mean that he didn’t see them. He was no fool, realizing that the shinigami might one-day attempt to break free from his reign, and accordingly kept a close eye upon them. His main focus was set upon making his conquered realm a place of glory, and although for appearances sake he vanished from the public eye, he didn’t actually. Now as the King’s realm once more returns to glory, Sousuke is said to once more be seen outside of that realm and Hueco Mundo.

-- abilities
generic
Kidou:
Kidou are spells that shinigami are taught to use. Their fundamental basis is for attacking, binding, and healing. An incantation is required in order to activate a majority of them, which a person must chant in order to get the desired result. They fall into two categories, which are binding and destructive. Binding spells do just as they state, and bind an individual. They can harm the individual as well, but their typical purpose is to bind. Destructive spells are used to attack targets, usually with some form of blast directed at the target.
Shunpo:
Shunpo is another ability that shinigami use. Literally translated as flash steps, it is a technique that allows the person using it to travel at greater speeds over a greater distance.
Zanpakutou
Kyouka Suigetsu is the name of Sousuke's zanpakutou. Like many other blades, in its sealed form, it looks like a normal katana. The release for the blade is kudakero, which translates into shatter. Its properties lay in the fact that it is based on hypnotism. Its shikai has the unique ability to put anyone who sees it into a state of complete hypnosis. In order to be affected by it, one must see the shikai, meaning that blind people are automatically immune to the effects. The effects can be very long lasting for people who see the shikai, and while they can fool many people, they are not foolproof. Such as with Unohana Retsu, at times there are ways to sense that something is off with the illusion. For combat purposes, Sousuke can use his zanpakutou to create clones of himself to confuse the enemy, or even hide himself to attack from the opponent’s blind spot.
-- personality
Crafty. Calculating. Cruel. Cunning. Manipulative. Those are just a few of the words that can be used to describe the former Captain of the third division.
There can be two different sides to Sousuke; the fiction and the reality. One, which is the docile humble man, while the other that is used to manipulate people. One should never quite trust the words that come from Sousuke, for rarely does he speak the plain honest truth. Rather, behind those kind and gentle seeming words lays the heart of a fearless individual. He is well aware that you win more friends with honey than vinegar. After all, did he not have his division eating out of the palm of his hand, not even guessing at the wolf that they housed? At first glance, Sousuke can appear meek when he wants to. He has a soft-spoken voice that clearly states his intellect. He was kind to the people under him, inspiring their hope and trust. He can compliment often, and make an individual feel like they are on the top of the world. Did he not have his vice, Hinamori Momo eating out of the palm of his hand?
Yet, the real Sousuke is far different. Like a master who strokes his pet with one hand while beating it with the other, he pulled the wool over everyone's eyes. Even his zanpakutou inspires this behaviour. It is based on illusion and trickery. To look at its shikai is to find oneself as Sousuke’s puppet. He has no morals, and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He will manipulate or kill anyone who gets in his way without a second glance. Did he not prove that with Rukia and his dear little former vice? The Arrancar see him as fearless and brutal, and he is. He is strong both physically and mentally. He can blend in with the background when he wants too and not have single person suspect that he would stab them gleefully in the back. Truthfully, he cares little for anyone but himself. He is cold, he is calculating, he is clever and he is cruel. Yet, he likes to play with people to get them under his thumb. He'll throw you a bone, or give you a hand, but the question remains; can you pay the price for his kind of help? He is the type of man that forms no real lasting relationships, save perhaps the strange one he has with Gin, yet he is well able to get others to believe that he has.
