Lulu Sabongi Workshops and Performances (CT and MA)
Lulu Sabongi's EUA tour will include two stops in New England.
On November 2, 3, and 5, she will be in Danbury, CT to do a series of master classes sponsored by Samira Amir and Rimarah Hare. The Nov. 2 master class is sold out. Thursday, Nov. 3, is billed as a teacher training class, which runs from 7:30-9:30pm. Saturday's four-hour workshop, 1:30pm-5:30pm, is focused on rarely-used hip techniques, as well as Jar dancing and Khaleegi. All will take place at Rimara's Dance Studio, 7 National Place, Danbury, CT. A show will follow on Saturday night at Western Connecticut State University, from 8:30-11pm.
She will also be in Boston, MA on Sunday, November 6, courtesy of Najmat, but I could not find more details on the flier or site as to whether this will be a workshop, or performance, or what. Anybody know?
Edited to add: badriyaz knew! "It's a workshop from 12pm-5pm at Casa Nia, 46 Porter Road at Porter Square, Cambridge. It was $60 before Oct. 20, $75 at the door (so I guess registration is now $75). Subjects are advanced Egyptian hip technique and veil. For more info contact Najmat at najmat99 at aol dot com."
