Week-ish Update

So today was not the most productive day I have had.  So far as my thesis goes, anyway.  It just wasn't a good day for my concentration for some reason.  Only got a page and a half of notes written in 2 hours.  Not to mention the fact that I was only in the library for 2 hours.  Well, I met Allen for lunch, so it was a good excuse.  We ate, went to the mall, he got himself an MP3 player, I learned that iPods really suck, and then headed back to campus.

I am up for a promotion at work.  If my competition from another company doesn't like the job, then it is mine.  I want it.  Better hours.  More hours.  More pay.  And less working with the public.  THANK YOU.  Just hope I get it... gotta hope.

On the other job front, I have a meeting in 10 days.  That is all I will say.  I am excited.  Hopefully the hours will not clash and I can work both jobs... should I even get either.  Hopehopehope.

We shall see.  I did everything I could so far.  So far as the promotion goes, it is all out of my hands.  As far as maybe getting this other job, I need to go shopping for a nice outfit that will make me look older, and I need to do well at this meeting.

Tuesday I made a little road trip to visit Howie, who is on leave from Iraq.  We hit the Palisades mall and got a hell of a welcome from one of the women he worked with:
"You're alive!"

"Uhh...I don't know what to say to that."

...

Yeah... I bet.

And we ran into Karl at Chili's!  I didnt know he was a manager there until came over and tried to sit down next to me.  I didn't give him the chance because I jumped up and hugged him, but he sat eventually.  We all chatted and talked about some people.  Howie worked at Chili's before Karl started there, and they were talking about managers and people they know.  He and I talked about Joe and Chris... the latter was in the invading forces of Falhujia (I spelled that wrong).  He was back in the States for a couple weeks but is there again... say a prayer that he comes home safe, if you think of it.  I'm sure he and all the guys over there could use it.

After I got back -- after dissapointing Mrs. Farewell because I wasn't staying the night...I love that woman!!! -- Mikie called and we made plans for poker and wings.  Well, we only made it to Boomer's for wings and rescheduled poker for Saturday night.  We did have a lively discussion about the prostitution habits primates develop once introduced to a monetary system.  Really.

So, tomorrow I work 5-10, maybe find out about my new placement, then go play some poker.  Life could really be worse.  Banning is doing very well. : D  Annnddd... that's it, really.

Oh, here's a question for those who know of them...Where's Frank and Eddie?!  I need the funny!  Make with the funny, already!

banning, jobs, albany
