Delmon Young THREW a BAT at an UMPIRE.
There is a great deal of debate going on presently as to what penalty should be handed down.
He is currently suspended indefinately. What should the time be?
8 games?
30 days?
The season?
WHY IS THERE A DEBATE?!
I think there should be assault charges just so it deters others from being so stupid.
He should be suspended for the year. He should be made an example of, and he should be punished because he THREW A BAT AT AN OFFICIAL.
Some basketball player threw his mouthguard at an official after not getting a call in his favor. That is not assault, but a blatant display of disrespect toward that official and the authority of the game. I think a 5 game suspension is called for. Oh, might that end his season because its the playoffs? Oh, well, he should have thought of that sooner.
