Bill Hicks, a comic who died altogether too early, once had a bit that began: "if any of the members of the audience tonight are in marketing... kill yourselves." He went on to explain how those people expecting a punchline didn't understand, that he really wanted people in marketing to kill themselves. Further, the fact that those in marketing in the audience were now thinking, "Bill's playing the 'anti-marketing' card; that's got a *huge* demographic" proved their worthiness to die.

The quote I particularly loved from the article was:
"People are tired of the pressure, of making it so commercial," says Ana Weber, a dating and relationship coach based in Newport Beach, Calif.

It would've been even better if it had been said by someone in marketing.

(PSA for Today: if you feel you need a coach to help you maintain your relationship, you should either move to California, or break up with your signifigant other.)

After several weeks of good momentum and accomplishment at work, being told to do things I disagree with from a structual point-of-view is starting to suck dedication out of me again. I hope I can bring it back soon.
