It causes a certain level of surrealism to my day when, upon rolling out of the shower and getting dressed and getting out the door on a normal work day, I'm walking past Kroger cheerfully listening to Book of Secrets for the first time in a while (note to self: rerip "The Highwayman", because your copy cuts out before the song is over), when a gentleman in a nice suit steps out of his nice Crysler beside you and walks past you and you nod and he nods back and he puts his money into the newspaper dispenser and you realize it's Frank Beamer. I'd think they'd have a newspaper at his office waiting for him. Or maybe it's only fair his office makes *him* buy the paper in the morning... he can afford it, after all.

Last weekend was my first Homeride of the year up to DC to visit rislyn. Also ate and gamed with jazzfish and uilos and heptadecagram (for such a long lj name, that's amazingly easy to spell) et al. But, really, the weekend was about sex, because I was going through my seasonal sex drive boost. I'm better now, thank goodness.

This weekend, rislyn is coming down to visit for the Labor Day extended weekend. I expect hiking will be one of the major activities. With the opening game of the season at Tech on Saturday afternoon, I think I want to not be in town. With the tropical storm pushing up, temperatures are supposed to be impressively cool for the next week or so, although there's also the fact that all ten days of weather.com's forcast for Blacksburg currently say that rain is expected in one variety or another. So, trips to McAfee's Knob (and the resulting trip to Homeplace) and the Cascades are likely, and I may drag her for my semi-regular walk to/from Christiansburg on Sunday (since, now that school is in session, we can always bus back if our legs die).

Then, after 3.5 days of work, I leave early on Friday to catch the Homeride up to DC again. This time, it will be a weekend for rislyn and anythingleft and me. We will go to MD Fair Saturday. We will probably watch Coupling a decent amount outside of that. We will learn what's the same as when we were together here, and what's different. And it will be good.

I still can't find an actual copy, digital or otherwise, of John Henton's Showtime Special, Comedy With an Attitude. If any of you bittorrent geeks have a copy, or can find one, let me know.
