My Weekend
This is how my weekend was spent:
Friday 7pm-2:30am - Painting
Saturday 11am-2:30am - Painting
Sunday 11am-2am - Painting
I didn't bathe from Thursday night until late late last night. I reaked plus I had paint all over me. I will probably get a disease from allowing paint to stay on my body for that long. The shower I took last night was one of the most satisfying showers I have ever had.
Needless to say, I am exhausted today since I had to get up at 7am and come to work. I almost feel drunk. That is better than the bitchiness I was expecting. But that could still come later. :)
I painted our entryway, living room, and dining room, which ended up being a huuuge project. I love the moulding in the living and dining rooms, but it is a bitch to paint. Also, I discovered that the areas I did not prime because they were a light color needed two coats of paint. So essentially everything had to be painted twice.
I made myself stick with it because I knew if I did not finish part of it it could be weeks before I resumed the project. I think it was well worth it.
The entryway and dining room are firebrick (deep orange), with white on the insides of the archways and on the mouldings. The living room is painted turtle (dark green) with white on the mouldings and windowsills.
The changes are drastic, and I love it. I can't wait to get home. I have no idea why the previous owners did a gold faux finish on the moudlings and windowsills because in my opinion it made them less of a feature than they should have been. So no more gold. Gold is almost never a good idea.
I will post pictures later, after tracyfort returns home from Jackson, MS with my camera. Yay for finishing a project all by myself!
