How does my garden grow?
I'm far too lazy to make an actual garden plot, but I figured I would try some herbs on the side porch this year. Ginormous hardware store didn't have any basil plants left, but I got a dill plant. I don't use dill that much so I think one will be plenty. At least sales clerk at ginormous hardware store was helpful and told me to call and ask for her by name tomorrow to find out if basil plants have come in as they're supposed to. I wouldn't mind having a few other things too like flat-leaf parsley, maybe arugula.
I got two patio tomato plants as well. I think they'll work really nicely in big pots.
Also got a new hanging basket bougainvillea and a large potted hibiscus. I love both and they tend to do well here, even when it gets super hot.
I also got a nice new planter where my basil plants will go when I can find some.
I think all this may have been inspired by a gift of lettuces from my across-the-street neighbors. These lettuces are so gorgeous! I almost felt like I should set up a still life rather than eat them. But eat them I did. Yummy!
