So I'm trying to get an "open ended" visa to Brazil for the work I'm doing with a company there. I don't know when/if I will be going, but my manager wants me to get this process started since it can take 3-4 weeks (minimum) to get a visa.
The problem is...
1) You have to have a letter from the company with the "dates requested"
2) You have to have "proof of travel arrangements" (copy of itinerary or airline tickets)
3) Letter of introduction from my company with an original signature (no photocopies or faxes) stating who I am and "travel dates requested"
4) I have to mail my passport off
5) I have to get more passport photos done and mailed off
6) I have to get a notarized copy (I think) of my driver's license
This is such a pain in the ass... And I think I have to call my travel department to set up a "fake" travel itinerary just to get proof of travel (refundable tickets that I can cancel after getting the visa).
Plus I still don't even know what address I am visiting. The company that I am working with has 3+ offices in different provinces of Brazil. I'm not sure which one I am dealing with yet.
It's an annoying amount of paperwork to visit another country. Plus I think the visa costs $300+ when it's all said and done.
