Eye exam...

Last week I had a heck of a headache (possible migraine) and had to run a few errands. I decided to stop by the Eye Exam place near the house and see what I wasn't seeing. I get headaches periodically looking at the screen all day, but couldn't tell if it was eye strain or job stress that brought it on.

They went through a couple machines to take measurements of the eye. One of them is a pressure test where it basically blows air into your eye to take a pressure measurement. That one had issues and couldn't "lock" onto the right distance to take a measurement. It did on one eye... scared the crap out of me when it just puffed air at my eye.

Went through a few more tests, including a "Magic Eye" test. That's one of those stereoscopic tests where you're supposed to see a 3d image out of a 2d bunch of dots. I couldn't see a thing. I've never been able to see anything on those posters. Well, they gave up on that one.

Anyway, after a few more eye-straining charts... they told me I had 20/20 vision and to go home. They seemed kinda disappointed that they couldn't fit me for glasses or schedule lasic or something. My eyes were dilated from the drops so I took a nap until I could focus again.

Just glad I don't have to have any major corrective stuff done at this time... but they did mention I have a slight astigmatism in the left eye. And the stereoscopic thing was likely due to the retina of the right eye being less developed. They said something about childhood, but it didn't sound like it was anything that they could do to help.

Guess it's just the job stress.
