No, it's NOT The Left that censors. Is THIS the kind of action that MLK or Gandhi would have endorsed? I do not call this kind of action "civil disobedience". THAT would imply CIVILITY. To all those there- Nice work, children.http://news.

Considering that recruiters tell outright lies in order to enlist more people (not to mention that the military gets treated like shit, both internally and externally), I don't blame them at all. They have no place in community colleges or high schools. They have no place walking through the poor malls and looking for another minority meat shield to stand in the way of a bullet for pay that is below the poverty line.

I'm still looking for the recruiter that signed up my husband, and when I find him, I'm going to hurt him.

I'm sorry, but I disagree. The last great nation that survived without a professional military was... well, there wasn't one. And sorry to say, young men and women who are willing to sacrifice for what they believe in is what MADE this country, and has saved it (and other nations) through 2 centuries.

I agree that the military is not paid enough, and are not treated well enough, and will fight for the betterment of their situation till the day I die.

Disagree if you like, but the military has caused our family (and many others) nothing but misery and problems. The bill of rights does not apply if you're a military member, or a member of their family. Worse, you can pretty much be ostracized for showing any form of intelligence.

I could go on, but it makes me sick just to think about it.

you're right and in general, I do agree BUT (I hear ya, yup, there are always the buts or butts :) I don't think a military force could function without that absolute power (hopefully with oversight) so societies wind up between the rock and the hard place -- an 'unfair' military or an ineffectual military -- not much point in an ineffectual military, so it comes down to an 'unfair' military or no military...then what?

I feel Melopene's pain on the personal level, I do. But you are right on, conceptually, sir. The military is not fun for alot of people, and it really can't be. And if we were really pressed (like during WWII, for instance) today's military would seem like summer camp. It can try to cater to a point, but it's purpose in being is mission oriented, not people oriented, and it HAS to be that way. And that is of course anti-thetical to what almost every business has become in this day and age. That contrast makes the life of those who serve (and their families) that much harder.

You're right. That's exactly what they showed in Fahrenheit 9/11.

They didn't just do it in Flint, incidentally. I've seen them doing it in Mobile, DC, Portland... it's just sad.
