It's a New Year

LiveJournal seems to have evolved significantly since my last post. Odd because I've posted twice in 20 years and now, idk.
The holiday season has come and gone and it's back to work, still as rewarding as ever. I'd grade it a C+
The holidays grade, in chronological order, party A-, Christmas Eve A, Christmas Day B+, Christmas dinner A, New Years Eve B+, New Years Day A-.
New Years Day is my father in law's birthday and there was a gathering. It went well. And then we got to play real tee-ball with the rodents. The two of them beat the wife and I pretty badly. Turns out, that was pretty awesome. We did throw Raleigh out pretty sharply at first once.
The work on the addition has been paused. HVAC starts next week. Still trying to get the paint and siding crew back on site.
The kid with the stove is getting a new one. The Kia Soul has been sold and that kid moved into a new-ish Honda. I bought their old beater Civic and fixed the motor mount, cleaned up the body damage, bought a set of alloy wheels off eBay and it's awesome. It's great at keeping the miles off the Durango and the Avenger.
It's 2025. The news is horrible but there's still hope. Most recently, may favorite expression has been "The Good Lord has brought us safe this far."
