Jethro eased silently back into the hospital room after having grabbed a cup of coffee and a sandwich from downstairs. He was eager to be back with his wife and their baby girl. He had made sure to text Daniel as well not wanting the little guy to feel left out of their family

Slowly, Jen pulls her eyes from the baby in the bed beside her up to Jethro trying to sneak back into the room. She smiles at him, but doesn't say anything just yet.

He grinned at her making his way over to them,"Drink?" He held his coffee out a little.

"No," she says, shaking her head slightly, "but if you take the baby, I'll have water." The world might end when Jenny Shepard turns down coffee, though.

He put his coffee down quickly, more than happy to take the baby from her.

Jen watches them as she sits up. Even just having Jaime an arm's length away put the fear of God into Jen, but she pushes it aside as she grabs the cup of water from the bedside table. Jaime is in the best hands.

He smiled just staring down at Jaime taking in every little detail about her. Jethro was sure he was the luckiest man in the world.

"Everyone says she looks like me, but...I think she looks like you," she says after taking a drink of her water.

"I don't know she's got your jaw line. Might have my nose though,"he nodded.

She takes another drink. "Hard to say since it's all smooshed. Her eyes could be yours or mine."

"True, that hair is you,"he smiled he liked the idea of Jaime looking like Jen.

"Well, yeah," she smirks.

[ncis_ljgibbs]

"My mother...she had red hair,"he looked from Jaime over to Jen.

She watches him for a moment. "High school biology was a long time ago, but if I'm remembering right, you had a hand in it."

He stared down at Jaime he honestly didn't get how a parent could just walk away from their child.

Jen puts the cup back on the bedside table. "Come over here."

He made his way over to sit next to her.
