Jethro sat on the edge of the bed his eyes on the tv. While he didn't watch much he did like to watch a sports event of some kind every once and a while. Tonight he was watching a little basketball and unwinding. He took a sip of his coffee as a commercial came on his eyes wandering to Jen.

Basketball isn't and has never been Jen's thing, so she's leaning against the headboard with a small stack of catalogs beside her. She's currently flipping through a Pottery Barn Kids catalog, but when she feels his eyes on her, she looks up, not saying anything, just raising an eyebrow.

"What are you looking at?" He can read the catalog name but that doesn't mean he really knows what is inside.

She hands over the catalog, "Really exciting crib bedding. Most of it doesn't move me."

"Some of it is alright,"he put his cup down and scooted up next to her with the catalog.

[on_jennys_terms]

"I think 'alright' is the operative word. I don't love any of it. I like some of it," she says with a shrug, leaning in a little bit.

"Then we'll just look elsewhere,"he shrugged as well.

She smiles and picks up one of the other catalogs. "We will," she says and then adds with a nod of her head towards the PB catalog, "Though I do want to get curtains from them."

He nods and puts down the catalog,"So you looking at anything besides baby stuff?"

[on_jennys_terms]

"Well," she says, letting the second catalog fall back to her lap, "I honestly thought about buying a bridal magazine today, but obviously I decided not to."

He looks over a little curiously,"Why not?"

[on_jennys_terms]

"I didn't really see the point in it." She gathers the two wayward catalogs and puts the stack on the nightstand.

[ncis_ljgibbs]

"Why not? I mean if you want the whole shebang we can make it happen Jen,"he shifted to sit up a little more.

She's quiet for a moment, thinking. "I do and I don't, Jethro. I don't want a reception or a rehearsal dinner or even centerpieces. All of that seems really unnecessary and I don't think we need to make a big deal about it. But I want more than to just stand in some drab courtroom wearing something I could have worn to work."

Another quiet moment as she thinks again, then ventures, "I think what I want is you in a suit, me in a dress, an officiant, and a couple of our friends. That's it, nothing else. No flowers. No fancy venue. Just something incredibly simple. And special."

"That sounds nice. I've done the big wedding gig and honestly it was all more stressful than romantic,"he brushed his lips over her cheek.

She leans into his touch, bringing her hand to her middle, "We have enough stress already. We don't need to add in any extraneous planning for something that isn't even us."

"Simple and special, that we can do real well,"he smiled at her.
