*waves* Sigh, I'm definitely of the thinking that NCIS Headslaps have now gone the way of the dinosaur and that the pc workplace police got to NCIS. *grumbles*
See, this is why TPTB need to actually keep one or two of their token "non-Gibbs' team" agents around, instead of either banishing them off to the ether or killing them. As much as I like Jimmy, even Nikki Jardine would have made more sense as Tony's confidante. Heck, she would have worked fine - she and Tony went off to Baghdad together, so that's a perfectly legitimate backstory for having formed a connection.
On another note, I actually like Tony and Tim's relationship, but in terms of their antagonism I think Tim is the quieter but meaner one. Tony definitely started out as the hazer, and he talks more trash, but all the Mc___ silliness and the nerdbashing - that's penny ante stuff. Tim doesn't insult Tony as often, but when he does, he goes straight for the jugular, for things he knows will hurt Tony deeply. Examples: his comments about Jeanne a few episodes ago, or his undercutting Tony as leader back in season 4, despite (as we just found out for sure) having genuinely thought he made a good boss. Eek.
On the other hand, they're just adorable when they're telling each other to "stroke [their] plumage" XD.

Yes, I was thinking exactly the same thing!
Those stroking moments ... I wish there were a few more of them. You're right about the relationship too. I like the Mc_____ stuff and nerding bashing as a viewer, but seeing how Tim reacts sometimes makes me uncomfortably aware that I'd get quiet and mean, if it went on like that for years. I'd probably strangle Tony, even though he means it non-maliciously.
Well, if I were in Tim's place, I'd definitely have quietly but firmly told Tony to knock it the eff off if he didn't want his mocha spiked with Ex-Lax one fine morning. Just because it's not malicious doesn't mean it's not annoying. But if it's not malicious, then presumably Tony would stop if he was actually asked to do so - the question is why Tim hasn't asked. (Macho pride?)
Yes, I would try that too at first. In fact, I think Tim did flip out about it a few seasons ago - the probie thing at least, and Gibbs told him it was meant affectionately - and that he was still a probie himself to his Boss. I think Tim has actually said to knock it off at least one other time, but that's not as an overall thing, just that incident.
I suspect Tim thinks it's not going to have any effect anyway. Tony IS irrepressible! I'd like to think Tim can't bear to take the joy from Tony, but that's my slashy glasses on there, so I don't really understand Tim.
