Leroy Jethro Gibbs sat in the comfortable warmth of the Reston house fire. He was ostensibly working on a cross word puzzle, but something bothered him.
“Hey Duck?’ he said to the man who was sitting beside him, immersed in a medical journal.
“Yes my dear?”
“Where you really as out of it on the painkillers as Abby and Palmer thought you were, when you called me sweetie?”
Ducky slowly put a bookmark in his journal. He reached out and pulled the gray-haired agent’s face toward him and placed a passionate kiss on the soft lips.
He released his grip and said,
“What do you think?”
