Hmmm.

Now I know why there were no squees or indeed posts about this episode around the NCIS Communities today.

I admit that I was disappointed, but deep down I always knew I was going to be. A couple of weeks ago I inadvertently stumbled across a photograph that showed Madam Jenn and Ziva both in handcuffs and I thought, 'Yes! Their whatever it is they are up to is going to be discovered'. But being realistic, as I knew it was the third from last episode, I knew that really it couldn't be But that didn't stop a small grain of hope from remaining.

A grain that grew when we saw that Ziva had killed the suspect and grew further when Madam Jenn was kidnapped. And I'm certain I wasn't the only person to feel and hope this. Oh, well, wishful thinking.

Overall I can't say I cared much for this episode, but as we'd had two really good ones on the trot, I guess it was bound to happen. Plus, we were due a Ziva and/or Madam Jenn ep, to balance things out.

Lovely Gibbs/Ducky scene in the elevator and some other nice exchanges, even when they weren't quite on the best of term. It once again showing us that Ducky is the only person who can get even slightly annoyed with Gibbs and question him.

Jimmy is always fun. I do like Jimmy.

Yet another flashback, and I really thought we'd done with them ::sigh::

Interesting ending, very interesting, thought. I still say that we are in for some revelation about MJ, be it in this series or the next. Gibbs might well have rescued her and had the team working for her safely, but the desperateness he showed when Ducky had been captures in The Meat Puzzle wasn't there. Sure he gave her coffee, but...

And the whole thing about the result of how the man died. Gibbs really intrigued me over this, and for once I felt that he and Ducky weren't attuned. Ducky thought that Gibbs wanted evidence that Ziva didn't kill the man, I got the feeling that it was quite the opposite. Interesting in the end that MJ called it, not Ducky.

And again I have to say that despite not liking either of them, I do think we are being fed more Jenn/Ziva stuff. Now Ziva in her own way was as frantic about Jenn's kidnapping as Gibbs was about Ducky's.

So all in all this won't go down in the annuals as a great ep. But I do think that it still drip-fed us stuff about MJ not being quite the good Director that we are meant to believe. More went on in Paris than a simple affair. My only feeling now is that we aren't going to get a conclusion to the whole Gibbs-Jenn thing this season.

I may add more thoughts tomorrow after I've pondered it a bit, but as it stands, it was a forgettable episode. Sadly, I know that had the handcuff thing been for real, it wouldn't have been so ::sigh::
