This is a short one because my ability to write has just not been materializing as much as it used to. :)
He stared at the other man unblinking. How had this happened? It wasn't like he went into the field. If he did, it was to help Ducky review the body and return it to the lab. He wasn't a field agent so why was he the one to get shot? Looking down, he saw the red blossoming. He blinked, then looked up at Ducky as he felt himself sliding down. It wasn't like he was falling, not really. It really was more like sliding down, the actions felt slowed, like someone had hit the slow play button on a vcr and each screen advanced slowly. He felt Ducky grab him. He could barely hear Kate's yelling. Then all he felt was searing pain. And the blackness took over.
