YG FAMILY GALAXY TOUR 2014 IN SINGAPORE PRESS CONFERENCE
okie this year or ever since i backed out from being a freelance journalists for a small internet media for Kpop esp on BigBang & 2NE1, i never get a chance to attend any press conferences. But thanks to StraitsTimes communities, the YG Family Galaxy Tour 2014 in Singapore Press Con. was being streamed live on their site!! Thus, we were able to tune in to the press con via our home laptops and computers..
Well from the looks of the venue, I know it was at Marina Bay Sands because I recognize the ballroom layout!! Yes, I went there for Mnet Asian Music Awards 2011 press conference... and that was my first time seeing 2NE1, SuJu, SNSD, Koda Kumi etc. less than 50m away from me!! lolx okie anyway back to topic..
Conference was suppose to start at 7.30pm but it was delayed till almost 8pm. To me is normal cos the previous press con i went to, except for those under RedSpade Ent. also had delays... so below is what happened..briefly...
Conference started with the MC welcoming everyone and gave a brief introduction to YG Family and the concert itself. After which, Mr Stanley Goh, Vice President of Samsung Electronics Asia gave an opening speech. He said about Singapore being the only South East Asia stop during the leg of the tour. He even praised YG Family by saying how hardworking and passionate they are which has the same philosophy as Samsung. After which he handed over to the MC where she introduced the YG Family one by one.
First one up, sitting at the back row is WINNER followed by 2NE1. Then at the front row, first one up is Epik High followed by Big Bang without Seungri.
*Side note.. Seungri will not be attending the concert becos he was caught in a car accident at the wee hours of this morning. Basically, Seungri who just got back from the launch party of NONA9ON, drove his Porche at considerably high speed. He actually wanted to switch lane from 1st lane to the last lane. At a high speed, and switching at the bend and switching the lanes at one go (from 1st to 2nd and to last), his car hit a Mercedes and eventually both cars lost control and Seungri's car hit the guard rail at the side of the road and it flipped over. Not to worry no serious injuries happened. Seungri and two other (passengers in the Mercedes) were sent to the hospital. Now Seungri is warded in the hospital and was told that he has to rest for a week to recover. And no, he wasn't DUI (Driving under the influence) or to simplify it, intoxicated! So yea let's hope he gets better soon.
Okie after everyone is sitted, the MC starts the QnA session. Basically the press were told to provide questions for YG Family beforehand and the MC will pick random questions from a box. So the QnA session started with a question for Big Bang.
Big Bang was asked what food they would like to try in Singapore since we are known to be a food paradise. Daesung answered saying that during their last trip together in Singapore, they ate alot of Black Pepper and Chilli Crab that they ended up going home walking sideways. That cause the room to be filled with laughter.
The next question was also for Big Bang. They were asked which artiste inspired them and who would they like to work with in the future. TOP then said that WINNER inspired them and he didn't have a special reason for it. He also said that he too would like to work with 2NE1 and Epik High.
The next question is for Epik High. It is known that Epik High is going to make a comeback with their 8th album. So will their new album style will be the same or different. DJ Tukutz answered saying that it is a secret because they don't want to reveal too much of it in order not to spoil the fun but said that the new album is going to be amazing.
Next question is for 2NE1. They were asked what do they think of the newly launched Samsung products. Dara said that the new product is perfect for 2NE1 style and that the screen is big to take good selfies.
Next question is also for 2NE1. They were asked what makes the YG Family concert different from their solo concerts. Dara said that there is a big difference between the two concerts such that in YG Family concert, they are able to show a different side of themselvesand they can do more collaborations with the others. When asked what kind of collaborations we can expect for the concert, Dara said she won't reveal anything and want us to watch out for it tomorrow.
Next question is for Epik High. Since it is their first time in Singapore, what will the be expecting. Tablo then said that Singapore is beautiful so as their people. The MC then pointed out that Singapore is hot which he replied in English that he loves the heat and he loves the sun.
Next question was for Big Bang about how they feel being able to perform with the other YG Family. Taeyang answered that he he is very happy since they can go tour together with the others especially with the new group WINNER and with Epik High.
Next question is for WINNER. They were asked what is one memorable moment since they debuted. Seung Yoon answered that the tour itself is them most memorable moment because they get to be with their seniors.
Next question was for Epik High. They were asked who would they like to collaborate with and why. Tablo answered in English that they would like to collaborate with Yang Hyun Suk himself and the collaboration will be a rap and dance collab.
Next question is for 2NE1. They were asked what other projects would they like to take up. Dara then answered like TOP, she wants to try acting to which TOP suggests that Dara to act out a crying scene on the spot which Dara said she wants to try out a kissing scene instead of a crying scene. And when asked with whom she wants to try the kissing scene, Dara said she wants to try it with Epik High's Mithra Jin and after that Tablo kept insisting they do it now. but in the end they didn't.
The next question is for WINNER. They were asked about their feeling being able to performed at the tour with their seniors. Seung Yoon then answered that it is a great honour to be performing with them as they had always been an audience in their concerts and that they feel very excited being able to perform with them right now.
Next question is also for WINNER. They were asked since they create their own music, where do they get their inspiration. To which Seung Yoon answered that their inspiration comes from their seniors.
Next was the last question and it was for 2NE1. They were asked about their feelings being back in Singapore since they have been here alot. CL answered that the Singaporean fans have always given them a warm welcome so being back here, they have become more familiar.
With that last question, the MC then asked all of them to take pictures with the new Samsung phones. They were all also presented with a token, which is a customized chocolate with their pictures on it. They were presented with the tokens by Mr Harry Lee, President of Samsung Asia Pte. Ltd. the tokens were given to Big Bang, followed by Epik High, followed by 2NE1 and lastly to WINNER.
During the photo taking session, as always Seung Yoon looks like he is high on sugar. LOLx. He is really damn excited which kind of actually lighten up the room. Well the others too seem excited. GD seems very quiet throughout the conference actually. Bom and Daesung also didn't smile that much. Hmm. Maybe because Seungri is not around?
Anyway the press conference ended at around 8.20pm.
Well I'm definitely excited for tomorrow and Sunday. Yes I'm going for both days!!! haha.. I'm definitely can't wait to get high! So yea maybe my next report will be on my review of the concert! So yea till next time! XD
