the return of mr. boyes

Jul 28, 2006 05:12

so as one who has spent a good deal of time returning to the ol' queen city I was happy to welcome young lee boyes to said ville this evening.

the boy looked resplendent with a woolen cap and all kinds of moxie.

we got a wheel. people who are from a) outside regina or b) outside my group of friends in Regina, are like "what's a wheel?" FOOLS!!! Wheel means pizza. Jimmy wheel means a western pizza and _____ shack is where you get the pizza.

So me and lee went and got a jimmy wheel at the broadway shack. and all was well with the pallete.

after that we went to the bodega. this was allright. though not john blaze. as everyone just talked about movies. which made me just want to rent movies. which would have been way cheaper.

but instead of renting movies I went to the dessart for the ice cream (triple chocolate brownie and strawberry in a waffle cone - can I get a YUM YUM?!?!?!) and then I went to the freehouse, and then home for a bit, and then to the manhattan room to see...well it was something. but long story short anyone who says they are hardcore while they have a fucking djimbey (and I don't know how to spell that but you know those drums that fucking hippies appropriate like woah) on stage is uber unbelievable.

after that me and lee split to avoid the end of the set, ended up at ohanlons, had a grand time, then went to some random wrap party at this bizzare place. the movies in regina are awesome cause they lack star studdedness but at the same time have parties. it is like a plain rope, no velvet, just drinks, i like that. so we went there.

the evening before I had a great time watching elliot brood at the exchange. and I saw my friend amanda whom I hadn't seen in years. it was awesome.
