Secret Santa: Gift for jaq_of_spades from mustbethursday3

First off, I hope you had a really lovely christmas and new years, and I'm so sorry for making you wait, but secret santas happen so rarely that I always forget they make me neurotic...until they do. I really wanted to write you something and I sort of did (if tags count and they totally do), which is why it took me so damn long because my plot bunnies don't really like doing what they're told...ever.
So I had to do battle with them, but I'm pretty sure they still won coz instead of managing to stick to one of your prompts it's more like I threw everything into a blender and then picked and chose what to include. But it was the bunnies I tell you. Blame the bunnies.
I swear, if I could have written anything (properly) it would have been dark and smexxy. But sadly even on my better days I've never been very good at it so please accept the below 5 gifsets as consolation...

These are meant as a series that spans fifteen years without power. You can read anything you like into it, you can view them as individual things if you want. But the loose story (explaination?) I have in my head, is that Charlie's arrival acts as a catalyst. At first she's a tool that Miles uses to get what he wants, but she becomes more than that. She makes the three of them a family*. And when Miles burns all his bridges getting out of Philly, Charlie stays.
*I sort of started thinking of their family as one thing, and then it sort of changed as I finished the last gifset so I don't really know what I mean by that. Oh and the black and white gifs are meant to be flashbacks, but again - they can be whatever you want.
