I really want them to hang and be snarky and make pop culture references that Charlie won't get.

YES. Exactly this.

And I want Miles to be a Fan of something really dorky that even Aaron's not into and it just becomes a big thing with them...this same old fight getting drudged up with new references. Geeky!Miles would be adorable.

I kinda get the feeling that the 'flicking' was accidental. That they meant to use it as a weapon, Ben and Co warned them it was unstable or something and they used it anyway. Either that or some third party stole it.

OOh that's an interesting theory. Hey, don't lean on that! ...OH FU- *laughs*

...But then how did Ben know beforehand? Who warned him? How did he know? Was he still working with/for Randall?

Whoever 'flicked the switch' accidentally or on purpose - well, I hope they're still alive and we get to meet them.

Yeah, I know- which is why I'm hoping you don't actually need all 12, because if you do- then we know none will get destroyed, for plot reasons. If you can find a way around the 12 rings pendants, then we have more dramatic options and you can destroy a pendant.

True, that'd suck. Maybe just having most would be enough, I kinda feel like it has to build to something to get everything going again - so 12's the safe number. 11's good too. 10's an 80% chance or something....etc

...or what if they have extras? In case of Emergency, trial run, prototypes?

At least one pendant has to get destroyed.

I don't know if I really see Miles being geeky. Though he's obviously a Stephen King fan- The Shawshank reference you could excuse as seeing the movie and not knowing it's based on SK, but The Stand reference? I've never read it and didn't get the reference until someone told me online. He has to know SK to know that one.

I also have this head!canon that Jeremy is a huge soap opera fan and drove Miles and Monroe crazy talking about 'One Life to Live'.

I feel like he was still involved in the project, so he would have been there and seen it heading towards disaster. My head canon is that Ben (and Grace, etc) kept warning them that it was unstable, but the Government pushed ahead anyway. Maybe it wasn't supposed to be used yet and when Ben found out it was, he ran home to download the program onto the pendant. Honestly I don't know, we're all guessing here until the show tells us.

I'm also wondering how the effect of the device happened globally- satellites? Do they need all the pendants in one place, or across the globe (probably in one place for story purposes). I like the idea of 12 being a safe number, because for dramatic reasons, we need at least one to get destroyed.
