Okay, it's a little over 500 words. But not by much!

Cold, Grey Flesh | Bass, Rachel, Miles | Wool Coat | PG-13 | Language

January in Philly. The snow’s only a few inches thick on the ground but there’s icicles hanging in the trees and fuck, is it cold. He rubs his gloved hands together, breath rising white and eerie in the early morning air. Bass is at least grateful for the warm, wool Militia uniforms.

He’s standing ankle deep in snow-turned-slush and the rubble of the Athenaeum. There’s something disconcerting about a centuries-old piece of stone reduced to this. Almost more disconcerting than the hollow skyscrapers on Arch St ( ... )

Aww, thanks Tday! I'm actually not sure if I believe Bass spontaneously capitalized on an accident like this or if I believe he planned Rachel's faux-death, but it's always the best form of flattery to have your fics declared canon. ;P

My headcanon from now on! I love Bass' POV and how possessive he is over Miles and wants him all to himself.

Thank you!! I like the idea that the faux-death was an example of Bass' spontaneous emotional neediness.
