Stan Van Gundy: WE WUZ ROGGED, DATZ BOOLSHIT

Late in the 3rd quarter of Game 2, Pistons vs. Magic, Detroit inbounded the ball with 5.1 seconds to go, with the score . . . Magic 76, Pistons 75.

This is what happened.

Basically, the shot clock never started counting down. Pistons inbounded, clock @ 5.1 seconds. Detroit's Billups takes it up, clock frozen suddenly @ 4.8 seconds . . . Billups passes to Stuckey, who charges the lane, kicking it out to Billups, for the 3 point shot.

Later in the program, TNT clocked the replay out to 5.2 seconds from 1st touch (time start) to Billups letting go the shot attempt. Here is their Zapruder film:

The league told the officials that no replay could be used. The officials ruled the shot as good. The officials then put half a second back on the clock for an Orlando possession to finish the third quarter.

As the teams walked off the court after the game finished, Stan Van Gundy was clearly spotted on camera shouting "bullshit!"

So, is this bullshit? Was Orlando "robbed" because of the league's determination of no replays allowed on the shot clock error? Did Orlando have a whole next quarter to play out the game and make the extra 3 Detroit points irrelevant? Are the Pistons just a bunch of dirty cheating assholes? Is this Flip Saunders's fault? David Stern's? What say you, and why?
