I am going straight to Hell for the icon above.... but it'll be worth it. *giggle* By the way, the idea was formed as a spinoff of something going on over at Sluggy.net (Sluggy Freelance online comics). There's a particularly amusing stoyline going on over there concerning an iPod, and the fans ("Defenders of the Nifty") have been spoofing the iPod commercials left and right (iWear, iBall, iClaudius, iOrta, etc etc). Hilarity ensues. Hopefully ICOD doesn't mind this particular spoof. ;)
Meanwhile, I digress from the original purpose of this posting:
Northern Region War Camp Archery:
AFIC, the setup will be as follows:
- I am picking up the keys to the portocastle for the range when I sign in tomorrow night. (YES! We have our own bathroom! *happy dance* This autocrat rocks...)
- SATURDAY MORNING: Setup is at 10am, so time enough for everyone to get breakfast and help put things together. Eric (Autocrat) is dropping off an EZ Up, the three stands and butts, and hay bales for our shoots, as well as the cooler for water. (Hopefully with water in it)
- Lorenzo and I are setting up novelty shoots on the hay bales.
- Royal rounds will be set up on the regular targets, there is not enough space for the standard War Shoot, except for a slot shoot (with duct tape for the slot sized hole).
- Lorenzo is bringing ice from down the road, for the cooler, as well as his own novelty stuff, and the sign up sheets for the RR scoring and novelties.
- I am bringing the props for my novelty shoot, as well as a clipboard and writing implements, my camp stool, community sunblock, a platter of fresh fruit for the marshals (DO NOT DRINK CAFFEINE, weather is going to be hot...), and the measuring tape for the field. Hopefully Lorenzo can bring the skewers for the target faces (he's bringing those too).
- Friedrich is helping out as staff. So is Dietrich, who is bringing a second EZ up, which will provide more shade for all of us.
- Staff and MiCs will be rotating in and out depending on food needs - PLEASE hydrate!
- Marshals-only shoot from 10am-11am for staff. Range opens to the public at 11am approx on Saturday, depending on setup time.
- Range closes at approx a half hour before court. No further archery to take place without a warranted marshal at the range.
- SUNDAY MORNING: Range opens whenever we wake up, to whenever the last marshal leaves, depending on who we have left to assist.
Should be fairly simple, and safe. There will be people coming in to learn, so if you have spare equipment to lend, please bring it. I am really looking forward to this.... and I am NOT going to MiC for Southern Region War Camp unless there are no other volunteers available, as a result of already being MiC for this War Camp. I may be crazy... but not that crazy.
Have a good weekend, all, and Happy 4th!
