Monotony. From huntedmerciless

The monotony of waiting out the sun was irritating. I couldn’t possibly fathom thinking right now, because too many thoughts would lead me to knocking down the walls of this disgusting place and letting in the fatal sun.

The cave that I am in, just outside of a town of New Mexico called Tucumcari, smells of bat dung and of something almost foreign, or alien. I know that I am indeed not far from Roswell and have read all of the stories of potential alien cover-ups by the United States government, which of course, isn’t surprising for they are dirty when dealing with other governments and even to their own people.

We should have defeated them a half a century ago and if I had been in charge, we wouldn’t have spread ourselves so thin all over Russia and would have defeated the allies and included in that, the American soldiers.

I wouldn’t have believed in the Roswell cover-ups except for now, I am standing in a place where a strange residue covers the walls and though it doesn’t cause me any fright, I am irritated that I chose here to be stuck, waiting out the sun, not knowing where Spike is, and not getting any assistance from the First evil.

I would have thought that he would have aided me by now considering that he could presumably see everything at once, but it was of no matter. If he visited me, he did, and if he didn’t, I knew what I would be doing. At sundown, I would be back in the car and heading west to the town of Seaside, California, where Spike would be going, likely and where more targets waited to be killed.

As if on cue, when thinking about the lack of help that the First had given me, he showed up in the form of the small British Librarian. He had a smile on his face, which probably meant that things were going well for Xavier with Buffy Summers and for Leonardo with the black slayer, but one could never be sure. I sat down and pulled out a cigarette, lighting it, taking a puff and blowing the smoke towards the ultimate evil of the world.

“So, First Evil…I take it by the smile on your face that things are going well on all of the other fronts. I take it that Xavier has already turned Buffy Summers into a vampire and that the same could be said for Leonardo and now, you are here to part some instructions my way.”

He kept the smile on his non-corporeal face.
