Back on dry land
Fortunately my brother brought his laptop with him on the cruise so I have the opportunity to use it wirelessly while he's napping. I would bring one myself but I have none that are suitable for travel. Hopefully work will get me one that is both portable and powerful. I don't necessarily need long battery life if I can get the other two criteria. Rarely use any computer off AC power.
I'm currently sitting at a La Quinta hotel in Ft. Lauderdale watching Shrek on TV (See Cat? Layers!) and freezing from the air conditioning (brother needs the air cold for his lungs) behind me, but enjoying the stable landmass a few floors beneath my feet. The cruise to the Caribbean was great and I enjoyed SCUBA diving for the first time. One step done on my certification for Deep Sea Diving, or DSD.
All in all I came out +$160 after I paid Dad back the $50 I borrowed and lost the first night, and not counting the $40 I used and kept to win the second night I played. I gave the chips to Dad to count against a Leica V-LUX 1 I bought on the trip, so plus the rebate, I'm only paying about $400 for what would be close to a thousand dollar camera after tax. Hooray for duty-free.
Off to dinner now, but I'll post more tonight or when I return to Tennessee.
