Hey,
Well I guess that I can’t sleep right now and I still have a little time before I start my training this morning I will fill everyone in on what I’ve been up to the last month, if your curious.
For the past month I have been visiting with friends, family, and preparing to move back to college as I look forward to another year at Augsburg College. I’m really excited, as I am a Residential Advisor for the first year’s hall. Urness the Furnace as many so endearingly call it will be my home for the next 8 months. I will be making door decorations, monitor, answer questions, and represent the College to all these new first years.
I moved into Urness this past Thursday and have been putting the finishing touches on my room. It is sweetness and I am glad to say I have my own room. One of the many perks I experience because of the nature of my job. English memorabilia decorate my room and remind me of my time well spent in Blackhall Rocks, England. I have a picture of Ms. Stephenson’s class about my computer, Ella’s collage by my kitchen, a huge British flag above my bed and a Northeast tea towel adorning my wall. I also put up the two pieces of artwork that I got from Bill Lister on my bulletin board and Sylvia’s hand stitched SHALOM on my bookshelf. I feel so fortunate to be able to share my experiences and memories with my friends and family back in the States. Thanks to each and every one of you who has made my Time For God experience so grand!
It has been really nice seeing all my friends and family. Catching up has been great, but I don’t know how to answer the questions that they ask sometimes. “How was England?” leaves a rather long-winded explanation and I really don’t know where to begin. I have too many memorable experiences to even try and pin point my most memorable, but I do my best to give a picture of what life was like for the past year.
Anyway I better get going. God Bless and take care! Oh and thanks to anyone and everyone who has sent me mail, emails, and talked to online. Keep in touch!
