What happened to the written word?
I understand, and participate, in using slang words such as "gonna" "I dunno" and other such things, which are usually a representation of how we slur words together in spoken word.
However.
I do not, NOT, NOT understand replacing 'y' with 'ii' or 'i'. I do not understand replacing 'th' with 'd'. I do not understand all of this dumbing down and twisting about and mutilation of written word.
No, I'm not some uptight super, proper, grammar nazi.. Well, yes, maybe I am. But what ever happened to pride? What ever happened to the want to appear intelligent? I can't even understand half of what these kids say anymore, and when I do I have to resist the urge to do the forehead slap.
Perfect example - whilst browsing livejournal..... A place specifically for writing none the less.... bah!!
let's start of the dae..woke up in the morning alreadi got scolding wit mummy abt money..so i got 2 daes of money and ten thurs and fri i wun have ani money..so i scolded her back and in return she shouted at me..big deal..
ten wen 2 wrk got scolding wit lecturer..almost evridae i get scolding it wud be a super great ting if i cn pass tis posting i swear..ten b4 i came into work fought wit u..so it jus keeps addin up 2 my problems i swear..
ten after tat was givin a bad attitude frm my EN at wrk..i fucking swear i hate tem big time..i swear..ten wen 4 break came bak and got scolding 4 gg 2 break late..i fucking swear its veri unresonalbe..and im still fightin wit u..
at tis point i swear i tink u jus dun bother abt me..so dun get upset if i dun msg u..
