Takdeer pe hum ko poora yakeen hai

Milenge Milenge came on TV recently and I had nothing else to do so I thought I might as well. I had just watched Hulchul again so I was in a very Kareena-friendly mood which might have influenced my appreciation of the movie somewhat.

Overall if you view the film as a maybe 2000-2005 film that you just never quite got around to watching it’s actually not that bad. I mean I wouldn’t particularly recommend the film but I’m also not warning you away from it. The film doesn’t really evoke strong emotions either way, it’s not amazing cinema but nor is it terrible either. If it's there and you have the time. Why not?

-Apart from their hair bring different lengths and colours in some scenes overall the continuity wasn’t as bad as I was expecting from a film delayed by over 5 years. I’m guessing all Kareena and Shahid really did last year was the voiceover and shooting for the final promotional song.

-I liked most of the songs apart from the first one “Full of Spice”? The film has a decent soundtrack despite the picturisations appearing dated now in 2011. You know like the inordinately high budget college stage dance. Shahid’s dance moves look dated as well probably because we’ve seen them in so many variations since then.

-There were quite a few scenes directly lifted from Serendipity but it didn’t bother me much to be honest.

-I really hate Kareena’s blonde hair that she had at the time you know the same hair in Hulchul, it was so unflattering and she constantly seemed to have roots. However Kareena does look so pretty on the beach scene even with that hair. If anybody has a screencap of that, I won't say no :P

-Shahid’s character was such a creeper originally, not only does he stare at her while she’s asleep, he steals the diary of a girl he doesn’t even know and then lets all his friends read it. But he gets a lot more sympathetic by the end that I'd almost completely forgotten by the end that he'd ever been a douche. Although what was the point of that little scene where all the guys dressed up in drag?

-Priya is so clingy! I get that she's just had her fortune come true and all but everybody knows asking a guy to marry you after you've known him for 5 days is just crazy talk!

-And a constant bugbear with Bollywood films: The characters all go to Bangkok where everybody speaks Hindi. How is this ever possible?
