Ugh, gotta go do the working thing now. But "La Esperanca" rocked much more than I thought. I'm willing to pay the $13 to keep up with this series. Hell, I'm even willing to buy it offline if Walden won't cooperate. The characters are very appealing, from the perfect devout main character GEORGES, the bad boy with the dark tragic past (but not one of your detached bad boys; this one lives to start shit and tease the hell out of main chara) ROBERT, the over-protective best friend HENRI, the spoiled prince who only wants the main character to pay attention to him FREDDY and the vengeful rival of the bad boy (something to do with his dark tragic past)ALAIN. It could be cliched but the main character does have a strength to him that keeps him from being your typical uke, the other main character is darker than your typical seme-type but confused enough that you see his mind games are out of his control and the storyline itself is interesting. I like the destroy the innoncent motif the manga has going for it. Without the borderline-raping style most yaoi toss in.
"Beyond my Touch," on the other hand, was cute but kinda cliched. Your typical angst boi meets bouncy boi and love is afoot fare. But the bouncy one was so adorable that I wasn't disappointed with my purchase.
I notice I'm posting more than usual, but that doesn't surprise me. My posting is usually proportional to how much fandom I'm into at the time, be it manga/anime/books/whathaveyou. I might restart my manga blog at least. I think I might save the anime part of it for only those series that I'm into enough to gush about.
