70 Days of Sweat, Day Fifty-Six: 1,000 words.
Total: 45,100 words.
Current story ("Liar, Cheat"): 4,000 words. And this story has a congenital defect, so I'm putting it into cryogenic storage until such time as my skills develop to the point of being able to extract the good bits and graft them onto a viable organism.
In other news: The Bone Key is one of the best books I've read this year. I'm only a few stories in, but it would take a screw-up along the lines of the book actually setting itself on fire to make me dislike it at this point. It contains exactly the kind of writing I consider to be AWESOME. The best characteristics of Lovecraft but with all the wrongness of Lovecraft totally fixed, plus more excellence piled upon it. I beam admiration at Sarah Monette.
