I say this continuously...about every five seconds as I run drive through, float, expedite, and try to remain calm. Many back pats and applause go out to Tracy, Meleah, and Jessica D. The jest of the night:
Someone called in...Meleah said she would close, we were still a man short. Meleah has been working so hard I could not bear to let her close. She had to be at work at 8 in the morning and work until 5. The worst shift on a weekend!!! So I told her to leave at 10. WE BUSTED OUR BUTTS. We ran around like lunatic's until I REALLY could not comprehend the orders I was taking on drive thru. I'm serious. Someone would order and I had to make them repeat it like three times. Not because I couldn't hear them, merely because I just could not register what they were saying. AND I almost fainted. I don't know why, I walked over to the bar and I grabbed onto it to stop myself from falling. It was very weird. Maybe too much multi-tasking leads to less blood flow. I think what happened is I forgot to breathe or something. What's worse is that the CD player is broken. I had about two screen fulls of drinks and all of these customers were waiting for them in silence. It was extremely uncomfortable for me. I wanted to shout, "CAN'T YOU LOOK THE OTHER WAY, or MAYBE JUST TALK AMONGST YOURSELVES??????" nay, nay...of course not. Anyhow, the moral of my story is this: we began to get slower around the last hour that we were open. okay, okay, the bottom line is this: even though we were busy and essentially only had three people on the floor on a saturday night, we busted our butts and got everything done, and got out at a decent time. What I'm saying is that things will always get done if you WORK. I sure am spent though. Feel like I've run a 10K in a pair of pointy boots. Okay, check this out.
Andrea: (working the bar with many a drink...screen full.)
(MEANWHILE..AT REGISTER ONE:)
A sir: I'll have to Venti Cappuccino's!!!

A sir: Are you SURE these are Cappuccino's????????
Andrea: Yes, they are. (smiling...fakely)
A sir: WELL, they just taste like COFFEE!!!
Andrea: Well, sir..our cappuccino's are espresso, steamed milk, and foam.
A sir: OH, so YOU guys don't make the REAL one's!!!!!
(He storms off in an angry rage)
(Andrea, unable to control herself shouts after him with all other customers watching google eyed...)
Andrea: WE ARE THE ONE's WHO MAKE REAL CAPPUCCINO'S!!!!
