Laughing hard at projects more interesting than mine . . .
Actually had a good day. Amazing what two weeks of sunlight in one's dwelling and a functional oven will do. (I made cupcakes. :) ) Fortunately Boss has finished posting grades for the semester (and had someone else to be pissed off at yesterday) and I got good data today (although not in the experiment I was hoping for. In short, I got a 'good' from Prof. Crankypants. I am pleased.
Currently I'm warming up some LB plates to grow some bacteria (intentionally) and I sat down to web browse. And found this utterly hilarious article on Slate about reverse engineering Proust's madeleine cookies. (This is of interest to me not because of the cupcakes but because my college yearbook always quoted the passage from Proust concerning the madeleine's, heck the yearbook was called Madeleine, and it took me two years to figure out why. D'oh.) In any case, I found the technique of the author superb and the technical diagrams hilarious.
Still no phone, but life today is okay.
