Haven't made an update in a while. My mother is really incompetent, speaking to my dad is extremely annoying because he's always trying to get shit on her behavior, Amanda is always working and James seems to becoming increasingly irritable. I'm really hoping to hear back from the hospital because I put my application in for the stock/lab assistant ( Read more... )

I've only seen Antikörper, but man, that movie is awesome. <3

Then you should see Pandorum! Very versatile director, I can't wait to see what else he comes up with.

Random curiosity here but does your standard movie theatre show big name US and German releases side by side?

Alright, I'll go check it out then :3

It does. I found Antikörper by accident, I don't think it ran in theaters here.
But other than that, yes. Out movie theatre even shows the English versions of big movies sometimes (Avatar, Alice, Sherlock Holmes,...). :3

It looks like it a had a pretty good budget, strange it wouldn't run in theatres :/ We so rarely get foreign films in our theatres, it's pretty sad.

Heh, I've heard most Germans know english very well so that's not too surprising. What's more common: dubbing or subtitles?

In theaters, definitely dubbing. But the English movies running there are original without subtitles. Just plain English.
When it comes to watching DVDs, I find that many of my friends prefer watching movies in their original language, but with English or German subtitles. :3

I find that people who actually appreciate a good movie rather watch it in the original language rather then dubbed, I hate watching a movie dubbed if I'm watching it for the first time, after that I don't mind because it's usually hysterical.

One thing that always bothers me when watching a movie that's not english is if there's a radio or TV on in the scene and they don't translate it in anyway so I don't know what they're saying, I don't care if it's not crucial to plot I want to know dammut! :(
