Fear of bearing an ongoing responsibility for another human life and resulting indecisiveness should be enough of an incentive to legally forbid certain people from dating- let alone procreating...
P.S. On a somewhat related note, a friend of mine relayed a story to me that occurred in his life yesterday. He was a part of a huge waiting line in a coffee shop and right in front of him there were a man and a woman. A woman was attempting to buy a cup of coffee worth a couple of dollars at the most only to be told by the staff that her debit card was not accepted. So, she had to go around the corner to withdraw some money from ATM machine. The staff asked the man who made his order in woman's absence:"Are you together? Can you pay for her coffee?" To which he looked around briefly to make sure the woman wasn't there and responded:"No, no, we aren't!" So, as the line-up kept waiting and waiting, the woman eventually came back and paid those puny two-three dollars for her coffee. The man... placed his arm around the woman's waist and walked away.
My friend was so aghast with the whole story, he kept repeating to me:"I wasn't even romantically interested in the girl- and I'd still pay for her coffee for the waiting line's comfort and for her comfort as well! It's only a couple of dollars!"
Avoidance of a responsibility for another human life even on the most basic terms is a sad and funny thing to observe... I am pretty sure that girl is thinking that her partner is a gift from god himself.
