I left the computer last night around 10:30pm, and I headed to my room to watch one of my Netflix movies. I chose The Basketball DiariesWow. The movie was so raw, and the actors portrayed the characters so true. I was blown away. There were many memorable lines, and I found myself wishing I owned the movie, despite the violence and drugs. Srsly, the folks that say Leo can't act have NOT seen this movie. He did every end of the spectrum in this one!

It's not new or anything - it released in '95. But it's definitely one you should check out.

Great Leo movie, one of my favorites that I'll only watch once.

I'd always heard that the classroom shooting scene was a catalyst for Columbine, and having seen the movie now, I can see that. It definitely gave me chills at that point, and I had to look away for brief moments, even. But the movie was VERY good, nonetheless - in the way that it got the message across in a very REAL manner.

I remember sometime after Titanic, a lot of people were all hard on Leo, saying he was overrated, and he wasn't that great as Jack Dawson, and he was just some stupid teenage heart-throb in some blockbuster movie that was just as overrated as he is... [@.@]

My response was always "Watch The Basketball Diaries. Then come and see me."

It's amazing. He's amazing.

I could not agree more. Between his performances in this, What's Eating Gilbert Grape? and The Beach alone, he's covered pretty much everything, and he's done it WELL.

And then there's the newer, The Departed, of course. Honestly, if anything, though Titanic was a great film, it was probably his weakest acting... and yet that's the film he's judged on most.

But TBD was amazing last night. Amazing to the point that I was thinking to myself, "Srsly, where was the Oscar for this?!"
