My Day
I had the biggest interview of my life today, and I think it went well. I had an interview at Hyatt Regency Newport in Newport, RI. I applied for a position in Room Service. Turns out the Johnson & Wales University name speaks loud to them. So I had an interview for about an hour and a half. I met with the Director of the department, Paul the Food and Beverage Manager. Then I met with the head director of the human resources department. I had a little tour of what I'd do, where everything is in the kitchen, met the chef and viewed the cooking area. very nice I must add, clean, comforting and really up to date. So now Mike, the HR manager, will be calling on my references, and then set up a drug test if he likes what her hears from my references. God am I praying. After all of that, if it all goes well, they will offer me a job. I know there shouldn't be any problem with a drug test, I haven't smoked pot since july. so, I am nervous now about when I'll hear back. Then I have 5 to 6 weeks of paid training. I'm soo excited. And being in newport huge named people come there. In the past Mel Gibson was there, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, our suckie president Bill Clinton. So I'm really stoked and nervous all at the same time. and to make it all even better, you know, my emotions. I get home and my mom says "so how'd it go?" and before I can start to answer her she's like picking at my shirt to the right side of my right boob, and I'm like what are u doing, and she picks off this sticker that had been there the WHOLE TIME. and to make matters worse, it wasn't like a normal sticker, it was out of my school agenda so it is aqua with white strips horizonatly and says TEST in white letters. Talk about making me feel just grand. So, now ya I'm laughing about it, but also freaked as all can be and sooo completely embarassed.
