Florida: sun, sand, ocean, theme parks, retiered persons
I am going to Florida, I love Florida. My family has a condo on St. Pete Beach. I am going at the end of this month and staying through April 9th. If I can get my shifts covered at work. The school is okay with it because they have spring break too. My work is less then thrilled and I have been informed that if I go without getting my shifts covered I may be out of a job. May the Death Eaters get my boss. I started there in 2002 and now they are gonna can my ass if I can't fill my shifts? Who is going to work all freaking Sunday (9 to 6) the shift I have had for nearly five years???? I have had the shift for nearly five years for a reason. Arseholes. In other fab news, I spent Saturday in Chicago. I ate at a yummy Greek restaurant. I shopped at overly expensive stores with money I do not have. I brought home five trays of Baklava. ($13/tray) I love Baklava. I put four in the freezer. I also got two trays of assorted Greek pastries. ($12/tray) Most involve nuts and honey. I will have it all eaten by the time the school year ends. The school year ends in July. My grandmother moved to town and now I have to provide transportation every Sunday to mass. We are Catholic. My grandmother likes the 7 am mass. She 'pays' for my gas and time by taking me out to breakfast after mass - at Denny's. I don't mind this except that mass starts at 7, ends at 7:50, Denny's arrive at 7:55, get out at 8:35. I drop of my grandmother at about 8:45 and barely get to work on time. Ahhhhhhhh! I know she is lonely and that is why she takes me out to breakfast but why can't she take me out to dinner on Saturday or lunch on Friday or Saturday? I would still take her to church. Or heck, a coffee shop for a latte and a muffin? Then she would see me twice a week.
Or maybe one of my brothers, who also live within 10 blocks of her apartment could take her to church and breakfast????? Once in awhile? I am also the one who runs her to doctor and dentist appointments. I only student teach Monday thru Thursday. I have my other job on Sunday's and every other Saturday. I do love my grandmother but it is stressful. I have an office to open and manage. I am the manager. I have underlings. Sure only fourteen but they are underlings and I am the manager. We open at 9am. I usually arrive at 8:55 am and I have the keys. If I am delayed for even a few minutes the office will not open and the peons will totally let my boss know. Because they suck. They all want my job. They all make $7.15 to $8.85/hr. I get $16.10/hr. Who wouldn't 9 hours at $16.10hr. Thats about $150/day $600/mo plus 2 Saturday's and that is now $900/mo. I make $900 for six days of work. Denying Insurance claims on a Sunday is hard work. I should also menion that I must get another manager to cover my shifts. The one's who work weekdays. They are all on flat saleries. Extra hours do not equal extra money.
