Do you live on base or off? Do you enjoy it there? What do you do to fill your time while your husband is away? Do you have any children? Those are just a few! lol! I guess I will just start with those for now. Thank you again! How much longer are you out there?

I live on base. E6 and below with one child or less is required to live on base. Japan itself is alright its really expensive and its a pain to get around and crowded. I miss having american amenities and conveniences. I am not fond of navy life here. The air wing here is gone at least 6 months a year every year here. I work full time and I am a full time grad student and I am currently working on my thesis. So that keeps me pretty busy. Plus I have some great friends. We don't have any kids yet just our two cats. Any particular questions you have just let me know. We have over a year left here....

ok so here are some more questions...Do you live in the Apt. towers? How are those? Is there a washer and dryer in there already or do you have to provide your own? Do you use a cell phone over there or is not even worth it? If you don't mind me asking what kind of work are you doing out there?

Most of our housing is high rise towers. We have some townhouses and garden apartments but you can only live in those if you have a dog and the wait for them is a lot longer for the garden apartments and town houses. My friend waited 5 months for hers. The towers are pretty good I live in a remodeled one. All housing has laundry rooms with washer and dryers. So you don't need to bring one. We have DSN phone to call around base. Vonage with a stateside phone number so we can call home for free and family can call us for free. And we have Japanese cell phones. We just have prepaid ones since we don't go through very many minutes this way we just pay for what we need. I pay like 3,000 Yen every few months for my minutes (about $30). I am the sports director here on base. Are you looking at working? What kind of job are your interested in? When will you be moving here?

Thank you so much for answering all my silly questions. I really appreciate it! Good to hear that the high rise apt are pretty good. I looked at pictures online and was a little scared! lol! We don't have a dog and we only have 1 little girl so I guess it would be high rise for us! Thats cool! I am actually a hairstylist and plan on doing hair out of the house there. But it might be kinda nice to do something else. We are still waiting for the orders to be approved but we would be getting there in May. I mind is blank tonight so for right now no more questions. Thank you again and I will be back with more though! haha. My name is Amy by the way!

You will definitely be in a tower. I have pictures of my house on my myspace if you want to see. That's great your a stylists. We have a salon base that you could work at as well. You would have to get permission through housing do work out of your house. I am sure your orders will be approved they are pushing orders here like crazy. You would be arriving just in time to hit summer deployment so be prepared for that. If you have any other questions just ask. I am Rachel by the way.
