Just a Goodbye Kiss.

Simon and Jayson take another trip to the railway bridge.

Simon stared intently up at Jayson as his mouth was flooded, his grey eyes huge and round.

After some time, Jayson buttoned his jeans and tugged at his fly, turned and crossed his arms as he leaned down to rest them on the railway bridge.  Allowing his head to fall down to his hands before raising, he nibbled his lip and spoke without even turning to look at Simon.

“This,” he paused, closing his eyes for a moment.  “This has to stop,” he said in a small voice.

Simon looked on in silence.

“I’m sorry, Si,” Jayson said after a few minutes, running a hand over Simon’s softened features.

Once more, Simon simply looked on in silence, Jayson’s head fell under his gaze and Simon nibbled his bottom lip.

“I know,” Simon said in a small voice, screwing his eyes closed for a few seconds at the tell-tell burning of tears.

Simon leaned in closer, just one last kiss.  Just one.

“Maybe… a goodbye kiss isn’t a good idea,” Jayson whispered, his cool breath ghosting over Simon’s lips.

Simon simply nodded as he watched Jayson turn and descend into the woodland, striding down paths with his hands stuffed into his pockets.

“Just a goodbye kiss,” he whispered to himself as he felt the tears leave his eyes.
