Back in April, I held a Tibbs iContest on my LJ. You can check out all the entries and the winners here.
I promised the winners I'd write them all a story inspired by their icon, and I'm posting them here. I did my best to capture some feeling or truth that struck me about each icon. I hope I succeeded.

Author’s Notes: This story is for theeverdream who made the winning icon in the Gibbs/Tony romance category. When I looked at this icon, the two things that struck me were a) why is Tony wearing that big sweater and b) what sneaky, secret thing are Gibbs and Tony smiling about? So I wrote this to explain the two!
Summary: “Tony, the sun is shining, the sky is blue, and it’s 80 degrees out here! Why on earth are you wearing that giant sweater?”

Author’s Notes: This story is for wintermute_lj who made the winning icon in the Tony category. When I looked at it the things I thought of were a) stubble and b) prison. I have no idea why! But I decided to just go with it.
Summary: His clothes feel strange against his skin after three years wearing prison overalls, but the sky is blue and the sun is shining - it’s a good day to start a new life.

Author’s Notes: This story is for dinky_di_1 who made the winning icon in the Gibbs/Tony BDSM category. I had the idea for this story almost as soon as I saw this icon - but I knew it’d end up long, so I tried to think of something else. But in the end I gave in and went with my original idea, which is why it’s a tad longer than the other winning fics. It’s just what came to mind.
This story is set in the 24/7 universe featured in my story Two Masters, where Tony is Gibbs’s 24/7 sub. It’s set several months after the events featured in that story, so Tony and Gibbs are now settled into their relationship and it has evolved.
Summary: “I’m going to give you a word,” Gibbs said, trailing a finger over Tony’s freshly spanked ass.

Author’s Notes: This story is for dinky_di_1 who made the winning icon in the Gibbs category. This icon was also voted best overall in the iContest, and I can see why. The idea is simple, the execution flawless and the use of that particular picture perfect. I’m glad I didn’t try and write this story too soon - it needed to wait until after Restless aired.
Summary: Tony’s known Gibbs a very long time - but not as long as Gibbs has known him.
