Dear Chicago Bears -

Dear Chicago Bears - This letter is long overdue. I am a member of the Orange Nation, who bleeds blue and orange and I find myself so disappointed in all of you.

When we won the NFC North, Urlacher stated that you liked being the underdog. WHAT!? You're not underdogs. You're the FUCKING CHICAGO BEARS! The MONSTERS OF THE MIDWAY!

There was a time that that meant something, but now? I'm not sure. Do you even know the Bears lineage that you are a part of?

No other team has more Hall of Famers than the Chicago Bears, a grand total of 26 so far and there are more to come.

So, why do you doubt that you are one of the greatest teams in the NFL? You should NEVER think you're the underdogs. If anything, you should see yourself as the top dogs.

So, whose shoes are you following in?

George "Papa Bear" Halas. Walter Payton. Gayle Sayers. Dick Butkus. Sid Luckman. Red Grange. Richard Dent. Dan Hampton. Mike Ditka.

I could go on and on.

You have a talented team. You have one of the most underated quarterbacks in the league. Look at what he does, despite having a soft offensive line. Support Jay as he helps lead you to victory.

You have one of the league's top linebackers in Urlacher. Follow him and you can win.

Watch film of Payton and then of Forte. While Forte isn't Sweetness, he has the same heart and strength that Payton had. He wants nothing more than to win and he'll be damned if he's going to be the one to lose the game. He, much like Sweetness, has this ability to make the defender think he's running one way and then cutting back to the other way. Use him the way that the Bears used Walter Payton.

In Greg Olsen, you have another version of Mike Ditka. He's a bare knuckle player that can not just run and score, but block as well.

I'm saddened that I show more emotion about an upcoming game than you seem to.

The 1985 Bears did one thing that I don't know if you do or not. They barked. They barked so loud and so long that the other team shit their pants out of fear. The only game they didn't was against Miami, and, not to take away from Marino and the rest of the Dolphins, they lost.

You are of a lineage of greatness. The Bears, ever since they were known as the Decauter Staleys in the 1920s, were undercut, cleats to the face, bloodied noses and knuckles by the end of the game bastards.

You are also that team.

To see a Bears/Packers game years ago was an exciting thing. Players would go out of their way to hit and to hit hard. Every effort was given to win and no cost was counted. There was no defeating ourselves before the first snap. Until 15 years ago, division games were the most exciting. Somewhere along the line, probably with Jim Harbaugh at the helm, you became soft and a joke...a punchline.

Why are you satisifed with that?

Did you not realize the NFC award is the GEORGE S. HALAS award? That belongs ONLY to Da Bears! Fight for it every year.

I'm sure Papa Bear is not happy with the team that he loved and lived for.

When wil you finally be the team again that the Bears were years ago? When will games against the Packers be blood fests again? When will the bare knuckle brawling Bears make a return?

I will always support you. I bleed blue and orange and will never stop supporting the best damn team in the NFL.

I just wish you guys realized where you're playing.

It's OUR HOUSE and NO ONE wins in Soldier Field save us. We're the ONLY team allowed to win there. Where's that attitude?

I love Da Bears, but I also miss you. Where are my Monsters of the Midway? Where are you? And when will you return?
