So, I am about to enter the scariest part of my life. I'm getting closer and closer to being 40 and I just realized I have no idea who I am without the Navy being a part of it.
I realize that it is how I grew up and the branch I served in, but there should be more to me than just being Navy, right? Well, I'm about to find out.
I think the only interests I ever had outside of the Navy were gymnastics, writing, shopping, and sleeping. And the only thing I don't suck at is shopping...though I can't do that much anymore. I'm broke enough as it is..
And, I know you're asking: what started all this? Simple. I had to get a new tire gauge and caps and I bought a beautiful air freshener. In order to use the air freshener, I had to remove my red, white, and blue necklace I had up there...along with my daddy's red rope. That was tough...but I knew then that I had to figure out who I am.
I told my mom that it's sad that I'm 38 and just starting to figure out who I am. She was nice and said that I was just the right age because most people start "re-evaluating" their lives in their 30's.
Am I re-evaluating my life or trying to give me my own life?
Am I finding the new me or re-discovering the old? I hope that the answer won't be long in coming.
For those of you on here that are my friends, IRL and OLO, I hope that you'll be patient with me as I try to find this out.
My whole life has ALWAYS been about the Navy and now I have to figure out what it is without the Navy.
I'm scared and anxious.
And excited.
