Memories

So, I'm sitting here, on computer, trying to find songs from my childhood. Some of the songs would have been from my mom and dad's childhoods, but we'd listen to on EPs or LPs or the radio. But, as I search songs and listen to them, I'm transported to another time and place. A time and place when I was a lot younger and a lot more innocent.

Days of my brubby and me 'surfing' on our rocking chairs to the Beach Boys "Surfing USA."

Days of trying to emulate my aunt while singing to Barry Manilow's "I Can't Smile Without You."

Days of writing and rehearsing the seventh grade play.

Days of hearing my mom's laughing at me as I danced to The Crystals "And Then He Kissed Me."

Days of learning how to do "The Stroll" in ENGLISH class when in seventh grade.

Days of pretending I was a member of The Fleetwoods, singing "Come Softly To Me."

Days of innocence. Days full of fond memories, desptite all the trials.

It's funny how a song can take us back to those days.

And what better way to spend a Saturday than strolling down Memory Lane.

memories, family, childhood, silliness, thoughts
