SO WHAT YOU EXPLAINED THEM ALL?? Now I feel bad.. :/
Okay, first of all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 1st one. I have absolutely no idea how you did it, but it's amazing. It kinda reminds me of this kinda of style, which I've always loved but never been able to do. DAMN YOU! :P only joking. but seriously, amazing.
I also love the larger version of the last in the texture category. Brilliant.
Those photos made me get out of my iconing shell. I wanted to emanate that boldness and I liked that I could do it. I was always afraid of going that extreme and now that fear's not there. So now I'm not closed to the idea of making icons that dark. SO THANKS. My first foray into such style got a thumbs up from one of my favorite icon makers! FUCKYES!
The set is one of my favorites. I use it every single time I open photoshop.
That's great. I can't wait to read what you have to write. THIS COMMUNITY SPREADING THE ICON JOY ALL 'ROUND :D
I'm going to definitely work on that. Except it took much longer to get those first icons anywhere near a way I liked. I usually get fed up if I spend longer than 20 minutes on an icon, lol. Those took a collective, what? Two and a half hours. THAT'S INSANE.
I wrote because I thought we were supposed to say how we were inspired by the prompts. And then as I wrote I realized just how much I don't icon because I want to learn photoshop but how much I luuuuurve the subject and want to make pretty stuff for it, lol.
Hahaha. IDK him personally but I remember reading a longish icon post in his journal. Yeah, I'm not like that with icons. I mean, I love making them and all that but I cannot spend so much time trying to make a perfect square. It's no fun when it becomes a chore.
Yeah, I'll never be as crazy as that, but idk, once I get started, I find it very hard to stop until I'm happy... and it's 3am. I guess I enjoy it when it works, like, really works, which is why I do it? A bit odd, sure. :P
and i've officially posted my kind-of explainations..?
Whoa. That came out wrong. I mean, when I icon I don't do it to get better at photoshop. Or to learn, really. I mean, I love learning new things but it's more a hobby used to vomit all that I watch when it inspires me. I hope this makes sense, lol. I just reread that above and wow. I call myself an English major.
I totally get what you're saying. I have those times where I just can't stop because I'm on a roll. I think I'm like that more with bigger graphics and picspams than I am with icons.

I definitely think you should kick on with that boldness, because with the right cap, right crop, it looks brilliant.

More than 20 mins? Yeah, good thing you're not me then :P I swear I caught 'long duration icon making' from blueymcphluey.
