i started jan. 20 in twu. it's an overload of information--i'm so overwhelmed. there's been a couple of casualties already. two girls dropped after the first week of exams.
there's only 4 classes technically (concepts, assessment, pharmacology and pathophysiology), but the first two have labs and clinical rounding. then by senior 2 i'll be rounding atleast 4 different hospitals, which is like 12 hr shifts.
i'm going to st. luke's this week. i'll have my very own patient to be my guinea pig. i'll have the dirty tasks of bathing and other unmentionables. i'm so leaning towards being an OR nurse, none of that direct patient interaction like floor nurses. i'll only deal with knocked out patients.
i get to watch a live operation! i hope i don't faint.
My class is killing me too. And I'm only taking ONE!!
